Is Immortality Possible?

Speakers at the Longevity Summit held by the Maximum Life Foundation were optimistic about current research into life extension methods. While some research seem more plausible than others, most of it revolved around preserving and modifying cell structures to prevent deterioration. Other methods required resources that don’t exist yet, such as creating Ph.D level artificial intelligence, and allocate this new brain-power towards solving the problem.

Many speakers were optimistic about achieving a tipping point within 20 years.

The most promising researching comes from Michael Rose, professor of evolutionary biology at the University of California, Irving, where he has been able to breed fruit flies to live four times as long as a their regular counterparts.
