New Blood Test for Longevity Available Now Which Will Cost You About $700

A new blood test that claims to predict your biological age and how much longer you will last has been developed.  A research company based in Spain, developed the test and is working on approvals throughout Europe and America. Now available in the U.K , the test measures the length of telomeres, a DNA structure which controls the longevity of dividing cells. The shorter the telomere, the faster you are aging. A very specific blood test can determine telomere length and, based on the length can use an algorithm to assess longevity based on current lifestyle. The test will give people an idea of the speed at which they are ageing, and a general assessment about their state of health. The cost of the test: In England the price is set at £435, which is roughly $705 at today’s exchange rate.

One benefits of a test like this is that you have the opportunity to make lifestyle changes that will benefit you and increase your lifespan.

Some critics claim that the test measures the length of telomeres on DNA in white blood cells in the plasma. White blood cells are involved in immune defense, and increased production during sickness may skew the reading of the test.  The test also fails to look at other measures that can indicate the overall health of a person.

A Drop of Blood Can Reveal Your Age

Scientists reported a genetic signature for a person’s age – to within a decade or so – in a type of white blood cell. The organ that pumps out T cells, the thymus, is gradually replaced with fat tissue as people age. Every time a T cell matures in the thymus it rearranges its DNA to create a molecular receptor that can recognize pathogens and other foreign molecules, leaving loops of excised DNA behind.  The levels of one particular T-cell loop sequence in 195 Dutch volunteers were quantified, and plotted them against their biological ages, which ranged from a few weeks to 80 years old.

They found that they could estimate a person’s age to within 9 years fairly accurately. “The correlation is pretty impressive. How useful it will be in practice as a forensic tool remains to be seen, although there will certainly be forensic cases where it will help as an investigative tool,”.  Scientists doesn’t expect that simply identifying a suspect’s age, but hopes the technique could be combined with other sources of evidence to rule suspects in or out. A potential limitation of the technique is that it could be a poor judge of age in people with HIV, diabetes and other conditions that perturb T cells.

How to Apply Homeopathy in Your Overall Health Care

Homeopathy, which was developed in Germany in the late 1700s, is based on the principle that “like cures like”. In other words, a substance that in large doses causes illness is believed to cure the same illness if given in minute doses. The minute dose is thought to stimulate the body’s healing mechanisms. Treatments are based on a person’s unique characteristics, including personality and lifestyle as well as symptoms and general health.

Should I Trust Native American Healing Practice?

Should I Trust Native American Healing Practice?

Native American healing is a broad term that includes healing beliefs and practices of hundreds of indigenous tribes of North America. It combines religion, spirituality, herbal medicine, and rituals that are used to treat people with medical and emotional conditions. Many healing practices and spiritual ceremonies that are being practiced today by healing practitioners and metaphysical groups have been adopted from traditions that originated from various Native American tribes. History indicates that each tribe would have one or more elders who were groomed in the healing arts. These individuals would serve as herbalists, healers, and spirit communicators. The duties and types of healing arts and spiritual ceremonies performed would naturally vary from tribe to tribe.
